The medium youth Apache Lighting that I ordered from Light came exactly how I built it in the helmet designer software. It is and has been exactly what I hoped for, quality built, comfortable for my 10yr old sons head and extremely light in comparison to his previous helmets. I firmly believe from the research and just a commonsense approach that the lighter these helmets can be with all the same safety precautions, the safer they are for the necks and heads of players. It significantly reduces the whiplash affect when taking a hit or the head hitting the turf when tackled to the ground. I 100% believe this is why investing in a Light helmet for your child is the biggest safety precaution you can take. I will now be ordering one for our older son who plays at the high school level after inspecting this first one and our younger sons love of the fitment of it.

Safest helmet there is. Very easy to fit. Solid and well made.

Our son plays tight end and d-line. He has had the SpeedFlex, Vicis Trench, and now the Light. He says the Light helmet is the best helmet he’s had—it’s light weight and he feels more protected vs his other helmets.

Maybe should be a 5. Service was great, easy to fit and obvious that it will fit well for a long time. Less expensive than many others even though it has a much higher rating per Virginia tech’s ratings than the more popular brands and more expensive brands. Not quite as light as we expected but still lighter than most.

My son really likes the new helmet. It feels more comfortable, and he also doesn’t feel as hot (which is important here in AZ) one recommendation, but the shim kit when you buy the helmet so you don’t have to wait to make any adjustments.
