Light Helmets and De La Salle

De La Salle Spartans Select LIGHT Helmets for the 2025 Season

De La Salle High School, home to the longest winning streak in sports history, is adding the LIGHT Apache helmet to its equipment lineup for the 2025 season. Players will now have access to the same lightweight, top-rated head protection trusted across the NFL and NCAA.

Why the Spartans chose the LIGHT Apache

  • Rated #1 for safety by the independent Virginia Tech helmet lab
  • Configurable to weigh as little as 3.5 lbs, easing neck strain and late game fatigue
  • Uses military grade materials and a 3D printed lattice liner for impact management without extra bulk

“De La Salle sets the bar in high-school football,” said Nick Esayian, CEO of LIGHT Helmets. “Adding the Apache shows their commitment to giving athletes the best protection on the market.”

De La Salle Head Coach Justin Alumbaugh agreed. “Our players deserve elite gear. The LIGHT Apache combines safety and performance, and we are excited to make it available in our locker room.”

The Spartans have appeared in 14 straight state championship games, winning 7. By equipping athletes with lighter, highly rated helmets, De La Salle continues to lead on and off the field.
