Nick Esayian has participated in a string of successful entrepreneurial ventures over the last twenty years including founding the major direct response marketing company, Revenue Solutions, which focused on television and digital marketing as channels to promote and sell millions of consumers a wide range of products. He is also the Founder of Direct Path, which is a technology platform specializing in audio recognition, media, traffic, and analytics platform for consumer marketing.
His career began with a sales, marketing, and management foundation at the Xerox Corp, Automatic Data Processing (ADP) and Executone Business Solutions (Bain Capital). Esayian transitioned into direct response as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Real Marketing Services, which was an affiliate of Barbour Langley Productions (the producer of COPS) before venturing out on his own in 2000 into the direct response world.
Esayian raced sports cars professionally in the Pirelli World Challenge series and his career spans back to 1989 including four Manufacturer’s Titles in the Pirelli World Challenge Series and multiple race wins. He was a member of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department SAR Unit for ten years and also served on a US Marshall Violent Fugitive Task Force in New Mexico. He has spoken at the Harvard Business School and is a enthusiastic supporter of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. He lives in Encinitas, California and has two sons, ages 15 and 12, who play football, hockey, and lacrosse.
Justin Bert is Chief Operating Officer of LIGHT Helmets and is responsible for all daily operations of the company. Justin has enjoyed a 30-year career in all aspects of real estate operations, investment, development, lending and brokerage. His diverse background includes working for large multi-national corporations, technology start-ups, small private firms and as a sole proprietor entrepreneur. Throughout his career, Justin has shown a keen ability to adapt to a variety of environments and disciplines including diverse operational and investment strategies. Most recently, Justin was Senior Vice President of Capstone Advisors managing investment activities at the firm including over $250 million in acquisition and lending transactions. Mr. Bert holds a Master’s in Business Administration from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Quantitative Economics and Decision Sciences from the University of California at San Diego.

Joe Hegener is a principal with Veraison Asset Management, a California Registered Investment Advisor managing wealth for its high net worth clients. In addition, he is also a principal with Veraison Capital Management where he has structured, raised capital, or participated in over 20 private equity transactions.
Prior to his departure in 2004, Joe was president and chief executive officer of TD Securities (USA) LLC and vice chair of TD Securities, Inc., where he ran the investment bank, the wholesale bank, and all of the investing and trading activities of TD Securities in the U.S., as well as the equity and interest rate derivatives businesses worldwide. Joe oversaw the front office, back office and risk management sectors of each of these businesses. Joe started with TD in 1995 and held various positions of increasing responsibility in structuring, trading, research and investing. Joe sat on various TD boards as well as the Association of International Banks.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Tulane University.

His engineering and management career began during his 12-year career as an Air Force officer. He then developed a profitable management consulting program focused on the Department of Defense totaling over $130 million. Concurrently, Brian founded a successful renewable energy company developing over 28 MW of projects within its first year of service. Prior to joining Light Helmets, Brian spearheaded engineering for the World Surf League where he directed design, engineering, and fabrication for over $35 million of innovative wave pool technologies.
After playing football and graduating from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering, Brian attained a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from Tufts University and a Master’s of Business Administration while serving in the Air Force. Also, he is a registered professional engineer. Brian lives in Carlsbad, California and has an 8 year old girl as well as two sons, ages 14 and 13, who play ice hockey and jiu jitsu.
